Why guardians of the Galaxy is a heroes journey

1.Peter Quils mom dies when he is a little kid, and his dad is long gone. That is typically a hero's journey, then Usually the kid gets taken in by a wise mentor. In peters case it is different he gets picked up by aliens, and his wise mentor is Yondou who is not so Wise.

2. Star lord goes into battle against Rohnin and Nebula with the help of his galactic crew.

3.Usually in heroic journey the hero comes across monster's or monsteras people. Peter meets Ronin and Nebula (very monsteras people).

4. Peter has loyal companions that he can trust and lean on throw out the story. That is a common thing that happens in hero journeys.

5. Star lord has a special power to be more resistant than a regular human. Ex: holding the infinity stone for a long time. He was probably given this power by his unknown father.

6. In the movie Peters mom dies of cancer and ever since than he treasures his cassette player that his mom gave gave him. After the guardians defeated Rohnin he got over his dead mother and opened the present his mom gave him just before She died. It was another tape.

7. Peter is naive at the beginning of the book, he likes to joke around and doesn't really take things serious. As the Journey went on he grew up. This is another common thing that happens in a hero journey, as the story goes on things get more serious and the main character grows up.

8. In the movie, the guardians go on a constant struggle to protect the infinity stone from Rohnin and it leads to mass destruction every were they go.
